To The Stage....

With the premiere of a new ballet fast approaching, yesterday our rehearsals moved onto the stage.  The energy shifts, things change, spacing is corrected and props appear!!!  Though we still don't have the scenery, just being down here starts to create more of an atmosphere for the piece.....

Seven Days Later.....

Finally the end of a full seven day working week.  Rehearsals, performances, a 21st birthday (the highlight!)..... what I thought was going to be a long, long week has actually flown.

Monday started with snow and as I sit and look out now, Sunday seems to have brought Spring, here's hoping it will stick around with us as I'm tiring of the snow!!

Now I'm looking forward to my Monday day off :)

Coppelia's Back...

Tonight Coppelia returns for five more performances.  It does feel a life time ago since our last show back in November, many, many productions have happened in the mean time and so the task in hand this last week was to cast my mind back and reboot my brain and bones with the choreography and after all my recent 'tango-ing' the style!

And now to get ready for the show :)

Rehearsal Times

I love being involved in the process of a new creation.  

At the moment we are busy with rehearsals of a new ballet by our director Thomas Edur (ex English National Ballet Principal).  Though we are still in the early stages, I can already imagine it's going to be fun to dance...... there's nothing more pleasurable in dance than being able to step onto stage and enjoy yourself!!!

Obviously, have my copy of Vogue with me!!!

The end of a long and tiring week!!!

Backstage...

 I love photos and the idea of capturing a moment forever.  Though I do usually prefer to use better shots for my blog (these are usually the photos that go to the facebook page!) last night I only had my IPhone to hand and even if the quality isn't great,  it's caught a little insight of behind the scenes!

I feel lucky that I've had the chance to be a part of Manon.  Choreographed by Kenneth Macmillan, I think it's a piece I'll never tire of dancing.

Love is...

Love is something that you have that you can treasure forever and ever.  

Something that will always make you smile...

Today I realised I had worn four real loves of my wardrobe.

River Island leopard boots

My beloved sequined bag... Primark and I adore it!

A Topshop jumper that I seem to wear and wear and never tire

And Pull and Bear jeans that almost seem like they were made to measure.

I've decided my closet needs a shift around, items get lost at the back and I forget about them.  I obviously need a back door to my wardrobe!

Little Mix

From Vivienne Westwood to Primark (what a mixture) but this is my favourite thing about Brit fashion!

I do think we have an amazing high street for up to the minute pieces at affordable prices.  

I sit here pondering that it would be nice to open my wardrobe every morning to a gazillion designer pieces looking back at me. But actually, I have so much fun hunting down fashion on our high street and mixing it all up with higher end brands (and when I'm lucky the odd designer piece thrown in) that I would miss the little missions that I set myself on in River Island, Primark and Topshop etc, etc! 

 To me that's the art of fashion.  Looking at my paint palette and mixing it all up to create a 'look'. Maybe I wouldn't love it so much, had I not the thrill of the chase.

What I Wore Today...

The main issue that I often have with myself over my blog CharlieHearts, is that I simply just don't have enough hours in my schedule to post everyday...... I take pride in each piece with regards to what I photograph, the quality of the pictures and the thought that goes into what I write.

Yesterday I discovered What I Wore Today, a site in which you can record your outfits daily, I was really drawn to the fact, that most users simply use their phone to take their pics and upload.... easy peasy!

  

It seems to be the answer to my problem, as initially, one of my dreams with my blog was to use it as a record of my outfits, something that I could look back on years to come (and maybe cringe at them, or maybe not!!!)

The only hitch at the moment is that for some reason I can't upload my pics on to the site :(  But as soon as I work out why I can't I'll make sure I'm camera phoning everyday!!!
