Cinderella Premiere...

Finally, after months of hard work, last night we premiered our new ballet 'Cinderella'.

I absolutely adore this production...... the choreography, costumes and to boot..... an amazing partner to dance with (big bonus!!!)

There will always be blood, sweat and tears leading up to a world premiere...... and it can be easy to step off the path and lose track, but we have to remember we are all striving for the same thing - an incredible end result and I truly feel that yesterday evening we delivered just that!

Opening night jitters soon evaporated as we danced to a full house...... it's a nerving feeling to imagine that thousands of eyes are watching your every step, but the older (and wiser) I become, I have learnt to just enjoy the moment and feel lucky that I get to do something everyday that I truly love.

As life seems to be on high speed at present, it's hard to post to my blog daily :(  (big sad face)

So, thank goodness for Instagram where it takes two seconds to add my daily photos!

A sneaky look...

Finally next week we will perform our new ballet 'Cinderella'...... As it's a world premiere I don't want to let too much out of the bag, but i couldn't resist in posting a sneak preview of my 'fabulous' pink do!!!

Modigliani...

We have danced, slept and breathed Modigliani for the last few months and finally on Friday evening we took to the stage in the world premiere of Thomas Edur's full length ballet - the story of the life of the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani.  

The buzz that surrounds a new piece is quite intense and as the premiere nears the atmosphere thickens.  From what I know, the reviews have been pretty mixed, but at the end of the day I enjoyed to dance and be a part of this new creation so much that all I will carry with me are good memories.

Premiere...

I was saved by the Iphone when I attended our premiere party for 'Modigliani', with a flat battery in my camera!!

  

 After a successful performance we celebrated with drinks at the after party, it felt a relief after everyones hard work to deliver an incredible show..... of course it helps to have a great partner to dance with like I had! (picture above)   :)

Premiere Night...

As you all know after weeks of intense preparation, learning steps, costume fittings and stage rehearsals, last night we premiered our new ballet ''Rosalinde' choreographed by Ronald Hynd.

The show went down a storm, with a fabulous audience who clearly seemed to appreciate the whole piece.

Always after a premiere, the whole theatre gathers for a champagne buffet.  It's an opportunity for the dancers, orchestra, ballet staff, choreographers, costume designers and stage technicians to come together after the weeks of all the hard work that goes into staging a ballet.

I, unusually, left my choosing of an outfit until the very last minute......  I always feel at such an occasion that I would like something a bit special to wear.  

 Having not had the time to shop of late, in my break before the performance I dashed to Zara to buy something.  I had an idea in my head of what I wanted, but of course like always when I have an idea of what I want I can never find it!  So returning home empty handed, I raided my wardrobe and found this dress that I last remember wearing three years ago (this is when I'm happy that I hold on to things!)  With my black dinner jacket and my beloved Chanel bag, I was happy with the outcome and so was my bank balance!!!!!
