My Knee!

Quite a contrast to my last post, where I was in full swing of performances and dancing away. But underneath the smile was my apprehension of my impending surgery and on Monday i under went arthroscopy of my right knee. I questioned whether to even mention it in my CharlieHeart posts, but the more I thought about it the more I realised that probably to some readers it would be interesting. Let's face it, two weeks ago I was more than happily bouncing around (unbeknown to me) on a torn meniscus. Of course I knew it wasn't happy, but not to the extent of already being torn..... I think it will be good for me to have a diary of my knees recovery and the steps to get back on stage as quickly and as healthily as possible!

Ballet may be a beautiful art form but at the end of the day we are athletes and we aren't invincible!

Shopping!

Oh how I miss the UK high street!!  The choice we have in such shops as Topshop and River Island, open up an endless wardrobe of bang on trend, purse happy outfits. My whole outlook on my 'fashion sense' is to be able to mix and match high street and the odd splurge of a designer piece.

After all I have a ballerina's pay packet and not a footballers......

Months are hours...

Of course being at home means I have time to catch up with friends.  Good friends are keepers and although we spend months and months apart in different countries, when we finally meet up it feels like those months were merely hours!

Birthdays are special...

Today we held a belated birthday party to celebrate with my nearest and dearest here in the UK.  I feel as you get older birthday's can sometimes just feel like any other day, so it's important to try and make something special..... 

After all....... being a year older brings wisdom, beauty and grace

Although the rain relentlessly continues, it doesn't mar my proud Brit(ness) shining!

As Wimbledon ends and we whole heartedly prepare to host this years Olympics (though VERY, VERY wet!!) Great Britain is an extremely cool place to be :)

Today I ...

....  I made use of the rainy day by getting to know my IPad.....I think we are going to be firm friends!

You wouldn't have wanted to venture out of our door today as the rain fall in the last 24 hours likened to the amount that we would usually have in a month. Though when I did HAVE to go out, I wrapped myself in my holiday memories with my 'Florida Gator's' jumper and the most genius invention of the high top wedges (my other new 'friend'!)  Plus no worries for future rainy days with the tshirt graffiti pens I found in New Look :)

Life isn't so bad when it pours!!!!!
