Champagne Wednesday...

The last few days before I leave the UK are always frantic!!  Buying last bits and pieces, organising this and that and meeting my friends to say "see you soon" (it's never goodbye!)
Wednesday night I dashed off to meet my very, very good friend in Leeds.  I enjoy the city..... the shops, the bars and restaurants.  Even though unfortunately this time I didn't manage to get a 'Leeds' shopping trip in :(   I did enjoy an evening of fine dining finished with drinks at the champagne bar in good company of my dear chum!

So, now I'm sat back in sunny Portugal with a million and one things to do!

Watch this space for my new adventures......

'Music Box Sale' NOW ON!!!
Own it while you can

I'm the type of person that gives my everything into the projects or work that I become involved with.....  The problem is though, that I tend to forget I'm not Super Woman and that there are only 24 hours to a day  (quite a few of which we use for our beauty sleep!!!!)  The point to my story being that I'm really behind with my CharlieHearts at the moment :(   But then something has to give sometimes and unfortunately this week it had to be my blog.  On the plus side, my other ventures have thrived this week....... Ballet North was amazing and I had the best time and now ShopCharlieHearts is currently in production of it's new seasons stock and it's looking great,  kitsch, fun and fabulous!!!

As well as all of my little ventures, my time is best spent with my mini me and the other day she was totally star struck when she came face to face with her number one idol - Peppa Pig!!!
The look on her face was price less, though getting her out of the store was another matter!!!

Mixing with celebs...... PEPPA PIG!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week..... Don't forget to enter our GIVEAWAY (only a few days left for entries) and check out our store with the 'Music Box Sale' now on!!!

I Heart My Ballet North

These last few days have been a wonderful, rewarding experience and I really hope that the students of the Ballet North course have enjoyed themselves as much as I have teaching and coaching them!  With full days of ballet, repertoire, pointe work, pas de deux and contemporary classes, it has truly been a great three days and I'm actually sad that tomorrow is our final day.

It's so great to be stood at the front of the class and watch the students improve and blossom before your very eyes.  They have been such a great, fun group and I hope that it won't be too long before another Ballet North event takes place!

Thank you to everyone who has made this incredible event happen.... including those behind the scenes.

I go to bed a happy girly..... though speechless... literally!!!! I must have gotten so excited dancing around and shouting over the music that I've now lost my voice!!!

Sweet dreams
Oh and don't miss out on the new giveaway!!!

Life Is Peachy

I wish I could be in America to see my good friend get married..... Last night before her Mum jetted off to be with her we managed to meet up for dinner and drinks in Haworth and I was happy that the drizzle subsided long enough for me to manage my heels amongst the cobbles!
This week has been crazy, hectic busy but amazing!!! I am enjoying running the Ballet North course and we have some amazing students :)  There's some true talent in Yorkshire and I'm sad that it ends on Saturday :(

Happy Days...

Leaving the sun well and truly behind in Portugal, we arrived safe and sound to a very wet and cloudy England on Friday evening....  So you can imagine on Saturday, we all had our fingers crossed that the heavens would manage to stay sealed for at least a few hours as we were attending another wedding.  As we all emerged from the beautiful church that sits proudly in the middle of Saltaire, it was as though our prayers had been answered, the sun was straining to shine from behind the clouds and the drizzle had disappeared, setting a wonderful standard for the celebrations to commence!

Saltaire, situated in West Yorkshire of the UK, is an industrial village that was built in 1853 by Sir Titus Salt, a leading industrialist in the Yorkshire woollen industry.  Built for his workers and their families, it took over 20 years to complete, building stone houses for the workers, a hospital and an institute for recreation and education,  a library, a reading room, gymnasium, science laboratory, billiard room and a concert hall.  For the children there was a school and a park with allotments and a boathouse.
The church (now known as Saltaire United Reformed Church) was built in 1859 and is a focal point of the 'model' village.  It lies in the valley of the River Aire, at the foot of the Pennine Moors and at the entrance to the Yorkshire Dales and was paid for by Salt to ensure his workers spiritual needs were catered for.

The outfit I chose was clean and simple.  I'm totally in love with this dress I had bought last month and I don't think it needed anything more than simple accessorises and nude heals.

It was a beautiful, special day.

Waikiki Fun

I'm really making the most of my beach days this week!! Tomorrow we jet off again back to the UK and I can't quite contain my excitement at the moment!!!

It's going to be a busy week though, as I'll be hosting a BALLET NORTH event.  Ballet North is my other baby...... though it was actually born in 2004, it may have been on the back burner for the last few years, but it's never been far from my mind.  Offering master classes, workshops, courses and Days of Dance - it aims to help develop and nurture the young dance talent of Yorkshire.   Professional dancers teaching the next up and coming professionals, means a fresh, upbeat and very understanding experience...... who better to be around than the ones who are in the business right now!!!
I absolutely adore to be a part of it... I love to teach and I love to share my experiences of the ballet world......

So keep your eyes peeled for future Ballet North events and if you so happen to be in the Yorkshire area next week, feel free to come and meet us and take part in class :)

But for now back to today, which was another wonderful warm day in Lisbon's sun..... I must say it felt quite tropical to be at a beach called Waikiki and the beds that sat at the top of the beach were way to tempting :)

So back to my packing now and see you from England :)

A pair of very old, unloved white jeans that I found at the back of my wardrobe the other day, were hovering over my 'get rid of' pile........ That's until I had the brainwave of hacking the legs off!   Boy am I glad I did as they are now perfect attire for Lisbon's hot weather and a pretty versatile 'new' addition to my wardrobe....... Yeah for recycling and yeah for brainwaves!!!! ;)

A few scattered clouds certainly didn't deter me from an hour at the beach! It was even refreshing to have the gentle breeze that accompanied them and I enjoyed an hour or so of getting lost in my magazine!  I did venture to the sea, but it was freezing, so didn't get much further than my toes!!!

A happy hour at one of my favourite places!
